Energy company Pinergy's increasing it's residential electricity prices from January 9th.
According to the company the latest change will result in a 14% increase to the typical household cost.
That's the equivalent of over €6 per week.
There will be no change to existing standard charges.
CEO Enda Gunnell says the outlook on the global wholesale markets continues to be volatile and challenging going into 2023.
He also states that price increases in global energy prices have been further exacerbated by local increases in regulated market charges that became effective in recent months.
