Plans to reform the welfare system by linking welfare-payments with previous earnings, has stalled.
That's according to the Irish Independent, quoting the new Finance Minister, Michael McGrath, who says he's bringing 'his own style' to the finance role.
Fine Gael had proposed that welfare payments could in future be based on a workers' pay before they lost their job.
However Fianna Fail's Minister McGrath says that must take a back seat - in favour of using resources to keep the pension age at 66.
