One of the country's best known poets, Brendan Kennelly, has been laid to rest.
He died on Sunday at the age of 85.
His funeral has taken place in Ballylongford in Co Kerry, and President Michael D Higgins was represented by his Aide de Camp.
Brendan Kennelly published over 30 poetry books and was a long-standing professor in Trinity College Dublin.
