A post mortem is due to be carried out later on the body of a three month old baby girl who died after a dog attack in Co. Waterford.
It happened in the village of Clashmore near the Waterford Cork border at around 2PM yesterday morning.
Emergency services attended the scene and brought the child to Cork University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Mayor of Waterford City and County, Councillor Damien Geoghegan says the people of Clashmore are shocked.
"There's a wonderful community spirit in Clashmore in west Waterford, quite close to the Waterford/Cork border and the town of Youghal is quite close as well.
"There's a fantastic community spirit there, and everybody in Clashmore is shocked at what happened."
