The President has expressed his deepest condolences to Michael O'Kennedy's family following the death of the former Minister.
Mr. O'Kennedy also served in cabinet across multiple Ministerial roles including Finance and Foreign Affairs among others.
Michael D Higgins says the Tipperary man served the Irish people 'with distinction' at home and abroad.
