Diesel users are more likely to be out of pocket than petrol drivers.
That's because of a 4% hike in diesel costs in October compared to last month.
Diesel now sits at its second-highest monthly average price ever.
Paddy Comyn, Head of Communications with the AA, explains why the prices between the two fuels vary:
"On one side there is almost a surplus of petrol across Europe. And that means the price of petrol has remained quite stable but supplies of diesel have started to become reasonably restricted because of countries moving away from Russian oil. And the result is that diesel has increased by significant numbers at 4% or about 20 cents per litre.
