The consumer rights bill will mean the same rights will apply for goods that are streamed or downloaded as things bought in person.
It will also crack down on aggressive commercial practices like posting fake reviews of other businesses.
Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Leo Varadkar says it's about modernising consumer rights:
"And it's all about modernizing our consumer protections and making sure they're fit for purpose in what is a digital age. So all the protections that you have over buying goods in a shop or buying another service are now being extended to digital services as well. Like streaming services and downloads, for example. So you know, there's the right to refund, the right to have things repaired through a software upgrade, if necessary to make sure they work properly."
