Students have entered the second day of this year's Junior and Leaving Cert exams, which are being held in the traditional format for the first time since 2019.

All sixth year students will sit English paper 2 at 2pm today, while Junior Cert students complete their Irish and History exams.

Parents are being advised not to over-analyse exam papers with their children after exams.

Psychologist Peadar Maxwell says parents should follow their child's lead:

"If they have that kind of kid who wants to come out and say,  "Oh, this came up and this is how I did," that child needs to debrief, move on and get it out. You have a young person in your house who really feels like "Oh, I've done that. I'll probably never study that subject again. I don't really want to talk about it." Let them move on from it."
