It's claimed a number of issues led to a public order incident at a Dublin beach over the weekend.
Gardaí were called to Burrow Beach in Sutton on Sunday, after it was claimed a brawl broke out.
Officers maintained a presence on the beach until the crowds left the scene safely.
Labour's justice spokesperson Aodhan O Riordain says there have been numerous issues highlighted in the past which weren't acted upon:
"We do have a situation where drinking of alcohol down on the beaches in Finglas county council that has been outlined by by-laws, since 2006 and it just isn't being enforced. And I think alcohol was a contributing factor to what happened over the weekend. And parking around that area has been really really poorly organised for quite a while, litter has been the problem."
