Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in Ireland, with almost 13,000 cases every year.
National Cancer Control Programme Specialist in Public Health Medicine, Dr Katherine Harkin has this advice:
"Let on clothing that covers your skin, such as long sleeved or long dresses or collared t-shirts. Put on sun screen on sun exposed areas, and really what I mean for that is Factor 30 or more for adults and Factor 50 for children. It's important to slap on a white brimmed hat."
