The controversy around RTE should focus on the preservation of public service broadcasting , after the Oireachtas Committee hearings on Tuesday.
That's the view of a former Communications Minister.
Presenter Ryan Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly will appear at the Media Committee and Public Accounts Committee in the week ahead.
Former Minister Pat Rabbitte says it's time to move on from some aspects of the scandal:
"I think obviously the hearings with the Ryan Tubridy and his manager - they're important but really it's time to bring the circus to an end after that. There are after all, depending on your point of view, either four or six inquiries underway, and I think that's quite enough".
