There are renewed calls for Ireland to decriminalise sex work.
The Sex Workers Alliance says the government needs to take action, after Belgium changed its laws to recognise sex workers as legitimate employees.
It's estimated there are up to 3-thousand sex workers operating in Ireland.
Linda Kavanagh from the alliance, says Ireland should follow Belgium's example:
"I really hope that Ireland sits up and takes notice of this. This it another European country. We now know it can be done and we need to see that change in Ireland too. Sex workers are so stigmatised; they want to remain under the radar - so people are not going to put up their hands and say 'I am a sex worker' . It's really difficult to know - we could estimate it as between 1,000 and 3,000."
