A "damning" report into the state of Ireland's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services is set to be released later today.
The Mental Health Commission has been tasked with carrying out an independent review of the quality of care given.
An interim report - published earlier this year - found some young people were "lost" in the system, while others were taking anti-psychotic medication without being properly monitored.
Ken Kilbride from ADHD Ireland says funding and staffing shortages within CAMHS must be addressed.
"The report is going to be damning, we know that much. We did get the interim report in January of this year, and even the Taoiseach commented on how bad it was.
"We're looking for improvements around the deficits in budgets, the deficits in staff.
"We know there's stress and burnout. We need to get those resources, and Government supports into CAMHS, so we get the best outcomes for all children going through the service."
