The richest 1% of the country holds over 35 percent of Ireland's financial wealth.
Ireland's two richest billionaires meanwhile, have more wealth than the bottom half of the population.
Oxfam, which carried out the research, wants the Government to tax extreme wealth, and to close tax loopholes.
It says "if current trends continue, the world will have its first trillionaire within a decade, but poverty won't be eradicated for another 229 years."
