RTÉ received more than 560,000 euro from the Department of Health for sponsorship on Operation Transformation.
The Irish Independent reports this was split across the last two years with just over 280,000 paid in 2021.
It comes after strong criticism of the programme by eating disorder groups, which accused it of being 'triggering'.
BodyWhys has previously said it 'does little to promote long lasting weight loss or health promotion.'
