Ryan Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly will give more than six hours of evidence before two Oireachtas Committees later.

The Public Accounts Committee and the Media Committee will seek answers on hidden payments made to the broadcaster which kicked off three weeks of controversy at RTÉ.

Ryan Tubridy is arguably the most famous person to even appear as a witness in front of an Oireachtas Committee and will face at least six hours of scrutiny today.

He'll be joined by his agent Noel Kelly and a solicitor.

While the controversy at RTÉ has ranged from flip flops to car loans the central issue was always undisclosed payments made to Ryan Tubridy, about which the picture is still unclear.

He'll be asked why he sought extra money through a sponsorship deal when the rest of the top ten earners were taking pay cuts, why he didn't notice his publicly disclosed salary was wrong, and what the story was with 120,000 euro worth of payments made prior to 2020.

Noel Kelly will also be quizzed about his status and influence as agent to the stars.

With his future at RTÉ far from certain it could be a career defining day for Ryan Tubridy, one that will be watched across the country with some pubs even deciding to air the committee hearings.
