Ryanair is cutting 40 percent of its capacity on flights in October, compared with the same month last year

Ryanair is cutting 40 percent of its capacity on flights in October, compared with the same month in 2019.

Similar cuts may happen throughout the winter if more quarantine rules are introduced.

On Monday the low budget airline warned that they would have no choice but to close it's Cork base for the winter unless travel restrictions are eased

Ryanair's Eddie Wilson made the comments at a crisis meeting held at Cork Airport with Cork members of the Oireachtas, where calls were made for an enhanced contact tracing system to be implemented at airports and the non-essential travel message to be weakened.

Ryanair, which is Cork Airport's biggest customer, say their business with Cork is at a critical point and its future is hanging in the balance
