The second of three €200 electricity credits will come in to effect from tomorrow.
The €600 credit package per household is scheduled to end in March.
Over 2.2 million households across the country will benefit from measures introduced in the Budget last September:
This is the second of three promised credits to deal with the rising cost of electricity.
Depending on a household’s individual billing cycle, people will get this €200 the credit during January or February.
The credit is part two of a €600 package in association with the ESB introduced in Budget 2023 to deal with the rising cost of living.
This overall cost of the credit package nationwide will be just over €1.2 billion.
It's part of a broader €4.1 billion package of one-off measures that were announced in the Budget.
If the war in Ukraine continues without any positive resolution, the Government may be forced to extend the credit scheme beyond March.
