Security sources say 2022 is set to be a record year for drug seizures in Ireland.
Gardaí have taken almost 40 million euro's worth of drugs off the streets so far this year with cannabis, heroin and cocaine making up the vast majority of seized contraband.
It represents around half of the amount of drugs seized in 2021 with more drug busts expected by the end of the year.
Analysis of the seizures show cannabis was the most common drug discovered by Gardaí with over 18 million euro's worth confiscated in searches.
