That's according to the Irish Christmas Tree Growers
The organisation says online orders usually begin in November, but people began their preparation for the festive season earlier this year.
The sales are up 50 per cent on this time last year.
Martin Kelleher, Chair of the Irish Christmas Tree Growers, says he took his first order at the end of October:
'We are finding that online sales have increased dramatically and are happening a lot earlier than last year. So last year it was a novelty maybe to buy a tree online, not many people were doing it. Whereas this year, there seems to be a lot more people using it as an option.'
