Sinn Féin says electricity prices should be brought back to pre-crisis levels in the upcoming Budget.
In it's alternative budget, the party says it would also provide payments to households to help with gas bills, as well as other measures to help with childcare.
The party says it hasn't received an official cost from the Department of Finance for it's package, but it's own estimates are around €4 billion.
Sinn Fein's finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty says Ireland should be following the lead of other EU countries in capping the costs of electricity.
