Sinn Féin has called for one months rent to be put back in the pockets of tenants in the form of a tax credit.
The party raised rent prices in the Dáil this afternoon, saying that renters are being 'fleeced'.
It called for tenants to be prioritised over landlords in any Budget measures next week.
Sinn Fein's finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty says the tax credit is needed along with other measures.
