Sinn Fein wants to see energy prices frozen to June 2021 rates.
Party leader Mary Lou McDonald says government supports to tackle the rising cost of living should be linked to people's income.
The lead Opposition party meets in Dublin today, ahead of the start of the new Dail term tomorrow.
Deputy McDonald explains what her party would do to help people with rising energy prices.
"Of course we need direct cash payments to assist people, and we are proposing that these would be targeted, that they would be linked to the level of income that people are on.
"For example somebody who earns less than €21,000 per annum would receive a €500 payment, someone who earns €40,000 would receive €407 and so on - it's stepped down."
