Further reductions in excise duty on petrol and diesel are needed to help with spiralling costs, according to Sinn Fein.
The party will also use its Dail time later to propose a €200 euro cash payment for all adults earning under €30,000.
The Taoiseach has said government can only do so much to help and can't continue providing financial support packages.
But Sinn Fein's social protection spokesperson, Claire Kerrane, believes more can be done.
"We know for example, a contingency fund was established for COVID-19 - as of the first of March €3.9bn remained un allocated and held in reserve for that fund.
"It will now more than likely not be spent in relation to COVID. We want to see part of that money use now to assist people in response to what is a growing and an increasing cost of living crisis."
