The Minister for Education is set to come under further pressure today when Sinn Fein table a motion calling on the government to introduce a hybrid Leaving Certificate exam.
The party says it's unacceptable that a decision has still not been made in relation to this years exam.
Cork TD and Sinn Fein Education spokesperson Donnchadh O'Laoghaire said the government must provide students with the same options that were announced for last years Leaving Cert.
"Primarily it's about ensuring the students this year have the same choice as students last year between accredited grades and written exams.
"Many will choose to sit the written exams, but I think the option of accredited grades is important because so many students are struggling to cover courses because of lost school time, self isolation and all the disruption of the pandemic."
