Small scale breweries believe Minimum Unit Pricing on alcohol will level the playing field.
The new rules came into force earlier this month, and sets a minimum price on drinks based on how much alcohol they contain in grams.
Craft brewer Bill Sheppard from County Kerry's Tom Crean company has told the Irish Independent he is hopeful of increased sales this year.
However he believes smaller breweries suffered into the festive period last year because of promotional deals on slabs of drinks.
