The Social Democrats say they don't have confidence in the government delivering the National Development Plan.
Yesterday, the Government announced a €165bn investment plan in the city across health, housing, transport and education for the next decade.
However, the plan has been criticised for a lack of specific timelines.
For Cork the plan sees a further commitment to the Event Centre, a surburban rail network between Mallow, Midleton and Cobh, investement in the M20 and m28 projects and a new elective hospital for the city.
Social Democrats Co-Leader Roisin Shorthall, says the lack of confidence from the Transport Minister was disappointing.
"It's unprecedented that the Government will launch a National Development Plan, and at the same time one of the Ministers, Eamonn Ryan, saying there's no guarantee that any of the projects will be delivered - so how can people have confidence in this?
"I think it's more about window dressing, a pretence that things are going to happen, when we know none of that has been worked out in any kind of detail."
