Some Irish companies may have to start rationing gas this winter.
The Business Post reports high energy industries could be asked to shut down or reduce operations due to the unfolding crisis in Europe.
The current gas pipeline between Russia and Germany, the Nordstream 1, is expected to close tomorrow for ten days.
As a result, emergency gas rationing protocols could be introduced here, which would see gas heating in hospitals, schools and homes prioritised.
