A number of ads on property letting sites are warning potential tenants they aren't permitted to work from home.
Several room vacancies posts in Dublin say that remote workers will not be considered for a room, with one post on saying the practice "won't suit the atmosphere" of the property.
CEO of onlineapplications.com, Karl Deeter, believes live-in landlords may have valid reasons for not welcoming remote workers:
"You could have a situation where someone say is a a therapist or something and they're dealing with people who have very profound problems and they operate the practice from home. This just spitball example. Someone else might be working in sales and it would be inappropriate to have someone talking loudly on Zoom calls in the next room. Another one of the ads said you can't work from home because there's no desk space. You might say, I'll work from the kitchen table, but they're already working from the kitchen table."
