St. Patrick's Day Festival announces events from the 12th to the 17th of March

This year the St. Patrick's Day parades are cancelled nationwide for the second year in a row.

This year the festival will be virtual with events from Irish authors, designers, and gaeilgeorí. The will be over 100 events planned for views to watch on St. Patrick's Day Festival TV, an online TV channel that will broadcast globally from the 12th of March.

The festival was organised by a group of different designers, authors, and illustrators with the support of The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Fáilte Ireland and Dublin City Council and aswell as many other groups.

Minister of State for Sport and the Gaeltacht Jack Chambers said: '' There is a really exciting programme of immersive events planned for the St. Patricks Festival which will celebrate and embrace the Irish language

''The festival offers a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our native language and the role it plays in our society, our culture, and in our arts. I hope people of all ages and from all backgrounds will fully participate in the festival''.

These virtual events will; allow many people all over the world to celebrate the festivities and experience Irish traditions this year.
