Almost half a million people in Ireland are living in food poverty.
According to the Children's Rights Alliance, children are going to school hungry and parents are going without themselves to ensure there is food on the table.
The organisation is calling for the issue to be addressed in the Budget.
Chief Executive of the Alliance, Tanya Ward, says we should look to other countries where solutions were found.
