Another attempt is being made today to try and get Northern Ireland's devolved government back up and running.
Power-sharing at Stormont has been in crisis since February - when the DUP started a boycott over the post-Brexit protocol which continued after May's elections.
The party's branded today's assembly recall a 'political stunt' - but SDLP MLA Matthew O'Toole disagrees.
"We're going to get them in the chamber and we're going to ask them why, with those two things happening - the cost of living emergency that's affecting everything and this godawful protocol bill passing through the Commons, why they won't let us get back in there and do our jobs.
"They can tell people why they won't, but if they do decide to allow us to at least elect a speaker then that would be progress."
