A strike notice has been served on Zenith Energy by SIPTU in relation to it's operations at the Bantry Bay Terminal.
The move follows the rejection by SIPTU members of a Workplace Relations Commission proposal to restructure Zenith Energy operations at Bantry.
In a statement issued to RedFM News, Zenith says the WRC proposal was reached after more than seven months of talks where the challenges facing the oil storage industry were set out.
In April, Zenith informed their 31 permanent staff members, that following a review of it's overall business, five redundancies were being implement at the Whiddy Iskand terminal as part of a restructing process.
The statement concludes that the Bantry Bay Terminal will remain operational.
