Transport police are needed to clamp down on the 'large number' of illegal taxi drivers, who are operating across the country.
That's according to the Taxi Alliance of Ireland, which is appearing before an Oireachtas committee today.
It'll say Gardaí and the National Transport Authority don't have enough resources to catch all of them.
It'll say these illegal operators need to be dealt with immediately before more legitimate taxi-drivers leave the sector.
