The Taoiseach has told COP27 that the world can't waste any more time in addressing climate change.
He told world leaders, at the summit in Egypt, that adverse weather events are becoming more frequent and violent.
The Taoiseach also highlighted the displacement of people from poorer countries who are disproportionately affected by climate disasters.
Micheál Martin, concluded his speech by telling delegates he believes positive change can be achieved:
"It is realistic for our legacy to be a sustainable planet. We in Ireland will do everything in our power to bring about this generation of leaders cannot say that we didn't know. The science is clear. every tonne of carbon warms the world. Every day makes our task that bigger. Let us not waste a second more."
