The Taoiseach says he doesn't know how many people may be evicted from their homes as a result of the ban on notices to quit being lifted.
Leo Varadkar says he believes the number will be very small as judges are reluctant to issue eviction notices.
The current ban on evictions will lapse next week.
A protest on the lifting of the eviction ban is being held in Cork tomorrow afternoon in Parnell Place
Organisers say the protest in the city tomorrow is the first in a wave of protests which will take place across the State in the next 8 days
Figures from the Residential Tenancies Board released earlier this month show 500 Notices to Quit were issued to tenants across Cork between July and October last year
