The Taoiseach has said Dee Forbes should appear before Oireachtas Committees this week despite her resignation as Director General of RTÉ.
Ms. Forbes apologised for her role in the controversy around 345,000 euro in overpayments to presenter Ryan Tubridy.
She also hit out at the RTÉ board saying she wasn't treated with anything approaching the levels of fairness, equity and respect anyone should expect.
This morning Leo Varadkar said he did have confidence in the RTÉ board, and the terms of reference for an external review into the incident will go to Cabinet tomorrow.
He also said Dee Forbes should publicly give more details of her role in events.
"I heard this morning that Dee Forbes had resigned as DG of RTE.
"I think she should still come before the Oireachtas Committee. She's issued a very strong statement, I think that people would like to hear her side of the story and her version of events.
"It's still open to her to attend the committee hearings, and I think she should."
