Taoiseach Michael Martin's giving a peace-building talk in Derry this evening - despite recent threats from loyalist paramilitaries.
There was a security alert at a similar event in Belfast last Friday, attended by Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney.
The UVF says Irish government ministers aren't welcome in the North, due to the Brexit protocol.
Aontu leader Peadar Tóibin says the warnings should be ignored.
"The level of protest that's been happening on the street in terms of the protocol is nowhere like the protest where for example around the Anglo-Irish Agreement. We're not talking about the same times at all.
"I do believe that it's important the Taoiseach remains safe and keeps his security in check, but we need to make sure that the Good Friday Agreement is fixed, and that people can have the bread and butter issues that are affecting them dealt with."
