It comes as negotiations are being finalised on a 237 million euro deal that will see modest pay rises across much of the public sector.
They're being targeted at certain admin and clerical staff, which includes politicians like TDs and Senators. But Solidarity TD Mick Barry believes it shouldn't go ahead for politicians:"I think that the TD's salary should be separate from the pay of the rest of public sector and in this case, the principal officers. TDs are different in the sense that they're meant to represent the people and for very many of our people, they've been hit very hard on hit very hard in the pocket too."
