The warm weather is here to stay with highs of up to 22 degrees forecast today.
The national forecaster says high pressure is currently dominating the country.
The weekend is also set to be dry and sunny, with temperatures reaching 21 degrees.
Met Éireann forecaster Matthew Martin says the best of the sunshine is expected in the south.
"Today temperatures will reach 21-22, degrees. We're expecting some cloud to build up today, so it won't be wall to wall sunshine.
"A mix of cloud and sunny spells today, and top values can be expected int he southern part of the country, and that bit cooler in the North."
