Tesco and Aldi are both dropping milk prices, just hours after Lidl.
A 10 cent drop in the price of Lidl's own-brand milk products came into effect this morning, with rival supermarket Aldi following suit this afternoon, and Tesco announcing it too will introduce a 10 cent decrease on Monday.
Lidl says it will see a three million euro saving passed on to its shoppers.
Keith O'Boyle is the chair of the Irish Farmers' Association's Liquid Milk Committee - he says these price cuts are disrespectful to farmers:
It's unsustainable and the only person that's going to get this is the dairy farmer and, you know, we're not immune to the cost of living. We have a cost of living as consumers as well and unfortunately we're getting it on both sides."
