It's estimated there are currently 40 thousand job vacancies across hotels, restaurants and bars.
Businesses are reporting having to change their opening hours as staff have either changed industry or left the country.
Restauranteur Oliver Dunne believes the industry is 'broken':
"We lost an awful lot of foreign staff and there's an awful lot of foreign staff are the backbone of the hospitality industry in Ireland. It's probably that brings up questions why is that? You know is a question Why can't we get Irish people into hospitality? I think the industry itself is kind of broken. No, it doesn't work."
