It comes as the Cabinet has approved a 100 million euro package to pay part of every households electricity bill.
The payment will be worth 113 euro and 50 cent and will likely be paid directly to electricity suppliers in March.
Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald is one of the opposition TDs who believes it doesn't go far enough:
"The cost of lighting and heating your home up a massive 53%. It's never ending. All of this adds up to a cost of living that is unbearable, and the government has to urgently deliver a plan that gets these costs down."
