It was speaking at the Oireachtas Education Committee this morning, which was discussing the potential for Leaving Cert reform.
The Department said it's 'reflecting' on last year's hybrid model, and what lessons can be learned if a similar approach is adopted in the future.
Neville Kenny from the Department's Curriculum and Assessment Unit says the views of students will be key in that:
"Student voice was a very strong feature of that planning and that participation and certainly the ISSU in particular, played a very strong and very effective role in representing that that student voice and ensuring that it was heard."
