The Finance Minister says any decision on a reduced VAT rate for the hospitality sector won't be made until the budget.
In the Dáil TDs have called on Paschal Donohoe to give businesses in that sector some certainty for planning for later in the year.
The Minister says he's inclined towards giving food businesses the reduced VAT rate of 9% and anything beyond that needs careful consideration,
"When we decide the scope of that move, it should be concentrated in the food and catering sector. The overall cost of that in a full year will be 657 million euro, that's a very big decision to make, and decisions of that scale should be confined to the budget Day itself."
