It will form next week's Budget
According to the Irish Independent, the increase from 14 to 19 euro will affect 160,000 pensioners, widows and widowers and 40,000 people with disabilities.
It also reports the fuel allowance will increase by 3 euro 50 per week.
It comes as 1.4 million people could have their Christmas bonus scrapped this year because of Covid-19, with government blaming 'strained' finances.
