The Green Party leader says decisions on remote working are best left to employers and employees

New laws are being considered so workers have the legal right to ask to work from home.

Employees whose request is turned down can appeal to the Workplace Relations Commission.

Opposition parties want a full right to work from home - but Transport Minister Eamon Ryan says each business should figure out what's best:

"Every office has different circumstances I think it's best left, this has to be collaboration between the employers and employees to get that balance right. It will involve a lot of remote working in my mind because it does really work for a lot of people but I don't think we should be categoric it has to be one thing or has to be the other. It will vary in every circumstance."
