The Taoiseach has claimed the banks were never bailed out.

Micheál Martin said shareholders were never bailed out and the state took equity in the banks involved. He was responding to questions about why money could be given to banks and not Debenhams workers.

Ex-Debenhams workers say they're shocked and disappointed at the offer of a 3 million euro package for training and upskilling.

The Chair of the Labour Court, Kevin Foley, announced the proposal following lengthy engagement with workers, KPMG and the government.

Around 1,000 staff lost their jobs in April after the company went into liquidation... staff have been protesting here outside the stores in Mahon and on Patrick St for the past 251 days.

The Taoiseach Micheál Martin told People Before Profit's Richard Boyd Barrett he was living in a financial fantasy land.
