The Minister for Health has been accused of "shrinkflation" at a time when older people are crying out for more home care hours.
The comments form the charity ALONE come as the Minister for Health gave the go ahead for a decrease in the number of hours for home support from 23.9 million to 22 million hours.
However Stephen Donnelly says as part of the reform of the sector there will be payment for travel time for home support providers, carers will also be paid the National Living Wage at a minimum.

Direct flights from Cork to New York could become a reality.
The Irish Independent report that Cork Airport is in discussions with a number of Airlines about the possibility of the route from Leeside to the Big Apple, with the DAA saying that the route could open in the next three years.

RTÉ Director-General Kevin Bakhurst will meet with broadcaster Ryan Tubridy again in the coming weeks, after a "one-to-one meeting" between them in recent days.
A statement from the broadcaster says the pair had a "good, open, and constructive conversation".
