Gardaí investigating the discovery of the body of a man in his early 60s in Buttevant earlier this year have arrested a woman in her mid 40s.

The man’s body was discovered at a house in the town on the night of Thursday the 24th of March.

The woman was arrested yesterday morning and is currently being detained at Mallow Garda Station.

The Higher Education Minister has announced three new significant educational developments for Cork that he says could end up being worth €100 million.

Simon Harris was in Cork yesterday where he announced that MTU can go ahead with a large extension of their campus, allowing them to accept a further 1,500 students.

One in 20 private water supplies were found to be contaminated with E. coli last year.

That's according to a new report from the Environmental Protection Agency.

The agency says it put the health of approximately 6,000 people that use these drinking water supplies throughout the country at risk.

The theme of this year's Late Late Toy Show has been revealed.

Host Ryan Tubridy will be following the yellow brick road, as the night is expected to be filled with music and magic from 'The Wizard of Oz'.

It's the 14th year Tubridy will be hosting the event.
